To be eligible to credits for transfer, they have to be taken at an accredited college or university which includes The Higher Learning Commission or the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MASAC). International programs are evaluated upon an individual basis. Transcripts that are official must be presented for the CCS. Your previous institution must have accepted the courses.
In order to transfer credits from your old college, classes taken at a foreign institution must be graded with a of C or higher. Grades that are passed or satisfactory aren’t transferable, nor is developmental coursework, college algebra or technical and career courses. However, this policy has been reviewed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and any courses taken prior to the date of the change are now accepted.
To transfer credit, courses taken at regionally accredited institutions require a passing grade or grade “C” or better in the previous institution. To be able to transfer credits classes must have the same scope and substance. While a C-grade is the minimum requirement to transfer credit, some institutions accept grades of “D” or higher. Accreditation bodies include these bodies: the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges together with Southern Association of School and Colleges.
TCEL lists courses that were transferred to Clemson before. It is not a complete list , and any courses that are not listed here must be evaluated before applying to Clemson. There is a TCEL listing also lists classes that have equivalents, but this list does not reflect differences in the amount of credit hours that institutions offer. Additionally, even though the TCEL lists courses that are equivalent to the courses offered by other institutions but the Office of Admissions’ evaluations depend on the most current information.
While your prior work may be acceptable, however, it must be reviewed to determine its academic implications. If you’re in a position to not finish the course work and you are unable to complete it, you might want to try again. Make sure that you get at minimum a “C” in the course and meet any requirements set by the university. If you take a course more than three times could affect your GPA cumulatively so be mindful before deciding to repeat it.
