In order to transfer credits classes must be similar in both scope and contents. While a C is the minimal requirement for transferable credits some institutions do accept Grades of “D” or higher. TCEL contains courses that have transferred to Clemson prior to. This is not an exhaustive listing and the courses not included in this list will have to be evaluated when you apply to Clemson. Also, this TCEL listing also provides some course equivalents, but the list does not reveal differences regarding credit hours between institutions. And while the TCEL lists courses that are comparable with courses offered by other colleges and universities, the Office of Admissions’ evaluations are based on current information.
Although the course you took previously could be acceptable to you, it is vital to revisit its academic consequences. If you’re not able to do the required work, consider repeating it. Insure that you score at the very least an “C” in the course and fulfill any rules required by the university. Repeating a course 3 times can impact your GPA cumulatively and should be taken into consideration whenever you’re considering repeating it.
